The Village Doctor is located in the wonderful community of Hilton Village in Newport News, Virginia. As the nation’s first war housing project, Hilton Village is a planned community with churches on the corners and a centrally located school, and is framed by the historic James River to the west and a business district along Warwick Boulevard to the east. After nearly 100 years, it remains a perfect place to raise a family, and serves as a great backdrop for this style of medical practice. Click here for a map to the office.
Remember, between 3 pm and 6 pm, no parking is allowed on our side of Warwick Blvd, so all patients are encouraged to park behind our office on Municipal Lane.

The office is closed on Wednesday afternoons and on the weekends.

After hours, if you dial the office number you will receive a message that states “the office is closed.” If you are calling for a non-emergent issue, leave your name and phone number on the answering machine and you will be called early on the next business day (when we return to the office). If you need to get in touch with Dr. Brady immediately, press 0 (zero) and you will be transferred to his cell phone.

Insurances Accepted:

Unfortunately, we are near full capacity and therefore are forced to limit our practice to new patients. Please call the office to see if we can accept your insurance.

Hospital Admissions:

After eight years of admitting to hospitals and much contemplation, Dr. Brady has decided not to actively care for patients during their hospital stay. If a patient of the Village Doctor should present to the ER and need admitting, a process is in place where the admission through a hospital specialist should automatically be arranged.

Labs and X-rays:

In order to simplify billing and minimize the amount of office space needed, The Village Doctor does not draw blood or do X-rays on site. During the appointment, Dr. Brady will give the patient the appropriate paperwork to have these tests done at specialized facilities.

Medical Records:

The Village Doctor utilizes the e-MDs electronic medical records system for all aspects of the office visit (scheduling, charting, and billing). This greatly reduces error and increases the quality of care being delivered. We remain compliant with the Health Information Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), and strive to keep our patient’s records as accurate and organized as possible. Please talk to Dr. Brady if you have any concerns about your medical records.

Billing and Fees:

The Village Doctor’s Fee schedule is equivalent to the highest reimbursing insurance Dr. Brady accepts. Although the vast majority of insurances will not reimburse at this level, to have different fee schedules for those with insurance and those without insurance is illegal. Click here for a copy of the current fee schedule. As is customary in any business, payment is due at the time of service.

All of The Village Doctor’s billing is done by Dr. Brady, and it remains the most frustrating part of his practice. (To try and understand some of the issues with medical billing click here). Although he makes every effort to assure all billing is done appropriately, Dr. Brady is human and mistakes do happen. If you feel he has made a billing error, please call during regular business hours and allow him to rectify the situation.
